Heather Spidell is Co-founder of Rural Energy NS, a community development organization located in Nova Scotia, Canada, focused primarily on helping rural communities understand and realize the potential of tidal, wind and wave energy.
Heather is accredited with the International Association of Business Communicators and has held senior level positions in health care, financial services, economic development, tourism and entrepreneurship education. Recently Heather worked with a consortium to deliver entrepreneurship education, mentorship and micro-financing to young farmers in southwest Africa with the support of IFAD. She also owns a small retail business in rural Nova Scotia that she offers as a platform to local artisans to help market and export their products online. Heather holds a Masters in Adult Education and a Degree in Public Relations.
