Africa’s rate of economic growth has exceeded the global average over the last decade. Yet high growth has not been sufficient to guarantee productive employment for all. Large sections of the population, and particularly the young, have been left behind. The U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit presents an opportune time to consider approaches to more inclusive, employment-creating and sustainable growth strategies, with particular attention to the special needs of youth.
